Tripview Sydney/Melbourne VoiceOver Scrolling Bug Fixed

 

The bug which caused VoiceOver users to have the page scroll back to previous times when looking at a trip has now been fixed in the latest update.

 

First Week in December: Apple updated Os versions Across the Board

 

Apple has updated OS’s for Apple TV 4th generation, iOS 9.2, watch os 2.1, and Os X 10.11.2.

updated Remote app for iOS now works with the Apple TV 4 generation

 

Great for parents who are blind as the parental pin number entered in to the Remote app is only heard on local device (using head phones), rather than being heard through the Apple TV/TV speakers.

Common apps between iOs and Android   Most of the apps that are listed here I mainly use on my iOS device (iPhone or iPad).  I can’t vouch for their accessibility 100 percent on Android, particularly for the main stream apps).   I have also included apps that work with the hardware that I use in my smart home such as those for my Ring Video Doorbell, Samsung Smart TV or Powerbot Vacuum Cleaner, Google Home, Sensibo for use with the Air Conditioner.     One other app that I have included for the hardware that I use is the Coffee Link app for my De’Longhi Primmadonna Touch coffee machine. Talking Tech for April 15 2014

Just some Notes on my Fitbit Flex I Purchased Last week   You ware this light wait fit tracker on your wrist inside a rubber watch style wrist band on your wrist.  Water proof up to 10 metres, so you can ware it in the shower.  Has lights on the Fitbit Flex itself, but the tracker can be completely controlled by the Fitbit iOS app.   Besides tracking steps, distance walked, activity time, calories burned, food intake, sleeping pattern, and goals, the Fitbit also has silent vibrating alarms (up to 8) that you can use to notify or remind you such as waking up as to not disturb your partner.   I’ve used step tracking apps on my iPhone before, but this is just fun, particularly if you are in friendly competition with others via the Fitbit community.   Completely VoiceOver compatible including setup. Talking Tech for October 14 2014

In this weeks show, spending some time talking about android accessibility as I did a presentation on it at the recent BCA NSW/ACT state conference in Newcastle and will be presenting on it again at the Vision Australia texpo in Sydney this Friday.   Next weeks program I will be talking about the Android and Apple apps that were highlighted at both the Melbourne and Sydney VA Texpos.   Android accessibility includes:     Screen reader: Talkback: supporting Braille displays via BrailleBack, and general Bluetooth keyboard navigation: i.e. no specific Talkback commands. Low vision: magnification, large text, Hearing: Closed Captions. General: auto rotate screen, speak passwords, accessibility shortcut, and text to speech output control. ´On phone, ability to set the power/sleep button to hang up call.
